OG Droid update failed

I got the update and accept to download it and it failed. So I took the battery out and see if it will ask me to do it again but it has not. Will it remind me to do it again? I want this update.

SPRecovery or ClockworkMod Recovery blocked the install.

Why do you want the update? FRG83D is nice, but it's not as good as any custom ROM, and rooting it can be a pain.

Hey fur - are you sure that CW Recovery will block the installation of that OTA update? I'd consider it a godsend if that's true, as my Dinc. and Droid X are rooted with CW Recovery installed and I want no part of any OTA updates from Motorola or Verizon. My Droid 1 with SPR seems to be resisting any efforts by Motorola to do an update, and I realize that the Dinc has no connection to Motorola's Evil Empire, but I do worry about my DX being vulnerable.

Thanks much!

Both SP and CW will block the OTA...for now.

DroidForums junkie!!

That - is a *major* relief! I am so worried about that OTA update for the Droid X. The Dinc...if they do update it, it'll be awhile, and at least Motorola will have no hand in that one.

Thanks!

Will the MotoCache1 way restore the root after accepting the upgrade?

Answer unclear. Ask later.

<throws magic 7 ball against wall>

All signs point to yes.

Well, you heard the toy. :)
