OG Droid Razr/Maxx 4.1.2 Update

Hey guys! I have a few questions, I hope I'm in the right place, let me know if I'm not. I've seen a few articles about us getting the official 4.1.2 update, and I'm not sure what to do. I have a Droid Razr, and its rooted. I've watched a few videos on youtube, and saw a few different posts about updating your phone after its been rooted. I wanted to know what should I do? I don't want to lose anything I have on my phone, and I'd really like to keep my settings. In one of the videos the guy said that some guys might take the official update, and turn it into a rom you can install? I have no Idea to tell you the truth, my experience stops at rooting, and installing multiple roms. I have safestrap, just trying to find my best options. I'd really appreciate any help I can get.

sounds like lots of people have taken the OTA update and keep able to keep root and all their stuff. Do some searching and clicking and you'll find out how others have done it.
