Notification sound

My notification tone for gmail keeps playing one of my mp3s that was never set. I reset it to default or another tone only for it to revert back to the mp3. PLEASE HELP this is. VERY annoying!

A similar thing happened to me. I went into my phone settings and changed the notification to what I wanted for my email. I don't think you can change it in Gmail. I actually had to change it to a different notification and then change it back to the notification I wanted. I had to do it a couple times to get it to work. To have a different notifications for my texts, Facebook, etc., I had to change it in my individual settings for those features.
