If the phone is on vibrate mode and a txt msg comes in there is no notification? My last phone, the phone would vibrate. Am I missing something? I want the ringer on vibrate but also to vibrate when a msg comes in-possible?

It should. Are you on vibrate or silent mode? What text app are you using...stock, Chomp, Handcent?

I press the volume button on the side until it goes down to vibrate. When a text comes in the phone does not vibrate

If you use the stock try this-- Open, tap settings, under notifications settings:
you have three options Notifications, select ringtones, vibrate

These options should provide you with what you are looking for
