not recognizing contacts.

My phone stopped recognizing contact numbers for no reason. On my call history I have my friend and his number under it, then as a whole other call today it just has his number from the phone call we had. I also noticed that my text inbox is full of numbers instead of n
names. I didn't do anything to my phone, it just happened...

Any ideas for solutions?
