Noob to the forum - Droid 3 question about unlock screen

Had a Droid 1, and now have a droid 3 (can't live without a keyboard!). i use the 9-point drawing password to unlock my phone, but it annoys me that i also have to do the slider to get to the password screen. is there a way to remove the slider screen without rooting the phone?

Welcome to Droid Forums!!

I am not familiar with the Droid 3 at all and on mine I don't need to use the slider first to access the pattern so I am not sure how you would have to disable it or if you can. Hopefully someone else with more D3 knowledge will come along shortly and chime in.

Seems as though there is no way around the slider.

Not sure if an app would fix this, widgetlocker maybe?

No lock does not work.

Thanks guidot! It may be a moto blur thing but I have never run anything stock long enough to find out lol.
