Nokia just made it official and included some updated details on that N1 Android tablet we reported yesterday. Their new foray into the world of Android tablets will begin in China in the first quarter of 2015. Nokia secured a a brand-licensing agreement with OEM partner Foxconn, who will manufacture, distribute, and sell it.

The N1 will cost $249 (roughly Rs. 15,400) before taxes, and will eventually filter out to other global markets as well. It turns out the N1 will actually be an Android 5.0 tablet out of the box. Here are the rest of its feature details,
  • 7.9-inch (2048x1536 pixel) IPS LED-backlit display protected by Gorilla Glass 3
  • 64-bit 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor (4 cores, 4 threads)
  • PowerVR G6430 GPU
  • 2GB of LPDDR3 (800MHz) RAM
  • 32GB of storage (non-expandable)
  • 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with 1080p video recording
  • 5-megapixel fixed focus front camera
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/n/ac with MIMO
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Micro-USB with reversible Type-C connector
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • Weighs 318 grams
  • Measures 200.7x138.6x6.9mm
  • 0.5W stereo speakers
  • 5300mAh battery
  • 6-axis gyroscope and an accelerometer
That's a pretty extensive feature-list, although the lack of expandable storage is negatively notable. Regardless of that quibble, this tablet might be an excellent value at this price. What do you think?

Specs look good and I can live without SD storage. I just may order one when it hits the streets in China.
