Nobody can hear me on calls

About 3 days ago, my phone stopped working properly during calls.
I can hear everyone else, but nobody can hear me. Phone is not rooted.

No no, the phone is not muted. Checked that first.

Have restarted the phone and checked my general settings more than once; not finding any applicable settings our anything askew.

Do I need to give in and hard re-boot / reset the phone? Or take it in to a Verizon store?

Try wiping cache first, then a hard reset

Yesterday i deleted most of my downloaded apps in Safe Mode. Still the same, nobody can tell that i have answered.

Also, now i am getting this red light around the screen edge, Always when i am in phone mode. Figured it would go away when i left Safe Mode. No such luck.
