No out going email

Suddenly lost the ability to send email. I can receive but not send. If I try 2 send it gets shot down almost immediately.

Are these gmail messages? Also, what is the error message you receive when you try to send an email? If this is not a gmail message, and you are using another mail provider such as an ISP. You may need to setup your email to authenticate for outgoing email. Most ISP's don't allow mail relaying which essentially means sending an email with without authenticating a username and password.

If we're talking about the Gmail app, I'd recommend the following: manage applications/all/Gmail/Clear data.

If we're talking about pop3 mail and the stock email app, I agree with McB. Also is it possible that your email server has changed their procedures and stopped allowing access to port 25? If so, you might want to try port 587 or 465.
