No email notification icon despite notification sound working.

Hello everyone. interesting problem...When I receive an email pushed to my standard email app from exchange, I hear the notification sound, but the notification icon is not shown in the status bar. Has made me miss a few important emails. Any ideas?

I have checked account settings and email notifications are enabled.

can try clearing the data/cache of the app.

Settings --> apps --> email

Yep! That usually does it.
As well as rebooting!
