True... But like Radon said once in a while you scan something and it doesn't register so they check and straighten it out. At least they don't make you feel like a criminal if that happens accidentally. They once found that I scanned a can 3 times instead of 2 and they fixed that for me too

that has happened to me at sams club. scanned an item and it did not take. caught it before making it to the front door. I guess it would be harder to check when the shopping cart is full without dumping the cart

it is a weird feeling the first time you do it. when you leave the store, you feel like you are forgetting to do something. at least that is what happened to me.

They want you to feel like you're not spending money... Then you'll buy more freely without thinking. It's convenience but it can mess with your mind especially if you're on a tight budget.
