no audio through TV with hdmi connection

Hey guys,
I'm using the mhl adapter to connect my s4. Before the ota it worked perfectly, after the ota it only mirrors the phone's display. All audio comes out of the S4 speaker...which is not adequate. Is anyone else having this issue? There aren't any hdmi connection options other than "stereo" or "surround. " I've tried both, neither work. I have tried a factory reset on the phone, that didn't help. I have no idea what the hell is wrong with it. Any help is appreciated.

It could be the HDMI port itself, did you try any other ports?

I once had a video issue with my ps3 and my TV. One of the ports didn't work until I had factory reset my TV.

I tried all the hdmi ports on the TV, none work. I also did a factory reset on the TV. Thanks for responding!

I hope that gets resolved. I haven't tried it yet.

You need the Samsung HDTV adapter for your phone.

Connect to TV: Connect Samsung Galaxy to ANY TV

What I did was uncheck the Audio output mode found in Settings>My Device>Accessory
