When I put ics on this phone, I carried 4g when in town but not at home.. Now I haven't had connection to 4g for days. Anyone know why an area with 4g would suddenly stop? Is there a setting somewhere I may have missed?
I have been having 4g issues as well. I'm in Colorado so if you're somewhere else I would say verizon is having network issues in multiple areas. Now I haven't contacted them to confirm issues, just an assumption.
Maybe the 4G tower was taken offline because of a problem or diagnostics. There's really no way to know for sure and if you try to call Verizon the likelyhood of actually finding someone that could find the exact tower you were likely connecting to and being able to find out its status is pretty much zero.
But don't automatically blame the phone because everyone is having issues across the country randomly with all sorts of phones.
I get a laugh every time I see a thread with "I can't get 4G" and "keep losing 4G" because it almost always includes statements or assumptions like "my phone must suck". As an end user there's no way you'll ever know the exact cause for YOUR situation. Verizon will happily swap your phone if you are a warranty paying member because they'd rather make it look like they're trying than have you leave because you think Verizon sucks.
I had an issue when I didn't have 4g for a day and a half on. 232 and assumed it was an outage. Shutdown, pulled sim card, restarted, shut down again, reinserted sim card, restarted again, and boom! Back on 4g.
Honestly I think it's the network much of the time. My wife has a Samsung Stratosphere, and the 4G frequently drops on it too. What's more irritating is the Wi-Fi connection goes off. I either have to reboot the phone, or set it to airplane mode, then off again. Is there any way to un-do the 232 update? It all worked great before then (of course).
4G on 232 has been almost 100% for the past couple weeks here in Honolulu, much better than when I first installed this leak.
Couple other things that you can try...
1. Boot into stock recovery and wipe 'Cache'...cache only and not data..
2. Is that airplane mode trick... put phone in airplane mode, shut down, reboot and let phone get all loaded back up, then take airplane mode off.
Worth a try, the wipe cache seems to be helping. I had it on .905, loaded .232 leak, then after in loaded I went into stock recovery and wiped cache.....4G has been rock solid

The pull SIM card trick is the stock CSM answer... may work so might as well try as well ... but I would try only one of the methods at a time so you know what's working best for your particular phone.
We have great LTE coverage in Milwaukee, WI, but my Bionic has dropped data several times a day. Called VZW tech support several times in the past month. I stopped at a VZW store today. They replaced my SIM card. Great connection so far, but I'll have to check whether it helps long-term.
