No 3G or data services

I bought my mom a droid2 for christmas and it has been working fine since then, until a few days ago texts wont send, there's no internet connection, and the 3G symbol is gone from the status bar.

Steps taken: reboot, airplane mode toggle, reactivation with *228

So just wondering, what is the most current OTA, baseband etc. for the d2? This phone is unrooted and running on (I think) 2.3.330. I have a DX and so these versions do not look familiar to me at all, lol

Texts don't use Data/3G to send and receive, so the two problems can't be related.
