I hope someone can help. I received what I believe to be the lolipop update for my Nexus 7. It down loaded fine, however, when I went to hit on the file with my finger to install, I must have brushed it to the side and lost it. I have it under my apps in the down load icon. The file is :nakasi-lrx21p-factory-93daa4d3.tar.How do I install the update and what file is it. When I hit on the file with my finger it says : can't open file. Can someone please help!!!!

When you say you received the update, how'd you get it? Did you get a notification that there was an update available, or did you download it from a site?

I turned on the tablet and it began downloading almost immediately without any action from me. It was 371 MG file. In my notification drop down it was showing the process of the download. The file took about 20 mins to download. How do install this

It should prompt you to install it. If the notification is gone, you can go into your settings & scroll all the way down, tap "About tablet," tap system update @ the top.

Is the notification still there?

No. The file is in my apps in the downloads icon. The file is: nakasi-lrx21p-factory-93daa4d3.tar. Does this look familiar to anybody? I hit on the file and it says "can't open file".

Do you know if you have the 2012 or 2013 version of the device?

When you go into about tablet, what android version does it say you have?

The latest update, android 5.0 aka Lollipop can be found here

Flash All The Things Lollipop Nexus OTA ZIP File Roundup

The file for that version does have nakasi in the name.

It takes some technical skill to install manually. I just did it myself this evening.

That's strange that it downloaded it, but didn't prompt you to install & won't install from the system update settings...

If you want to go for it manually, you don't need to download it again. You can copy it from your tablet to the PC so you can push it with adb. The setup is almost the hardest part though because you need adb & the proper drivers.
