Every time I go to reflash a new factory image I have to go back and find things from old. Well creating this thread to help fix that.

If boot loader is already unlocked and you want to do things the manual way (like myself) remember this

fastboot boot CF-Auto-Root-shamu-shamu-nexus6.img

type fastboot flash bootloader [name of your file].img
2) type fastboot flash radio [name of your file].img
3) type fastboot reboot-bootloader
4) type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
5) type fastboot flash boot boot.img
6) type fastboot flash system system.img
7) fastboot flash cache cache.img

if you have issue flashing the system.img

I will hopefully have time tonight.. But I plan on just updating radio and system..

If you back up what you need to back up with tibu put that folder and your music (what ever is not saved to the cloud) on your hard drive. As long as you have another phone with your accounts tap and go is that easy. I only use tibu to restore data, except for tapatalk where I prefer the older version.

I don't think data wipe is needed.. Just update system and radio.. I'm decrypted so I want to stay that way.. No need to full wipe IMO..

You are correct sir as that is how we did it in the old crackflashing days. But every now and then I like a clean install and now that setting up my device is easier and does not take as long ill do a clean install unless the only thing that changed was the system.img.....which may very well be the case being it is a .01 vs a .10.

They just released the factory image for 5.01 on the nexus 5. Since my nexus 5 is just my spare developer phone that i keep up to date so I can use tap and go with my n6. Think I am going to do the old dirty flash ...err update the system and radio
