next update

Anyone know or have any information about the next update that we will be getting. If there is any at all?

We may not be getting Jelly Bean. A Motorola post from awhile ago mentioned RAZR would get it by years end, but they never specified if they meant RAZR HD or standard. It'd be nice, but don't hold your breath.

Moto is usually pretty discrete about forth coming updates. We usually don't know when one is coming until the start of a "soak test" is leaked out. It's been about four months since ICS was released for the Razr. Moto's past record indicates that they usually follow-up a release with an update at the 3 month mark. Krenzy is right, if Moto feels that there is not a need for an update to ICS then they may hold off and release Jelly Bean instead of updating ICS on the Razr. Bottom line...don't bet on anything.

Yeah very true
If they don't release it for the razr but release it for the RAZR maxx and the HD etc that would be messed up
I still think its kinda messed up that they released the maxx like two months after the RAZR lol
Hopefully we get jelly bean but I'm not counting on it

Everything you said is true except distinguishing the OG Razr and Maxx when it comes to software updates. They run the exact same software down to the version number. They have the exact same hardware with the exception of the battery. Extended batteries do not affect software. If Moto decides to update Razr with JB it will be for both OG and Maxx.

Ok, I don't know for sure that we " are " going to get it,but I will say this,,My wife works for one of the big three auto companies and every time a new os has started being developed they have to start looking at it and if their radio/nav system will be able to connect with the hand unit, they just recently really sieved an update for their system for jb and are using an razr as their test unit,,so IMHO we will see it,,its just a matter of when.

I think the reason why we don't have an update by now is because they decided to just skip to JB. 215 was going to be there next update but for whatever reason they decided to not release it.

Oh, I wouldn't bet on that.
