I am Helen currently a Verizon Blackberry person and looking to get the Droid next. Wanted to be educated on them and which is the best choice for me.

Hi Helen and :welcome: to the Droid Forums. I'm an ex Blackberry person myself, I had the Blackberry Storm. I think I should tell you that the hardest thing about changing to a Droid is to forget everything you know about Blackberry. This will be completely different.

I'd say 98% of the people who switch stay with an Android phone but some can't quite make the learning curve. So be prepared for that. And be prepared to be overwhelmed by the best phones that are out there.

Good luck on deciding which one to get, I'm partial to the Droid 2. That link that Mike gave you is a good place to start.
