Newbie with the Thunderbolt (And Frustrated Verizon User)

Thank you for this forum. I have been frustrated as hell with not getting the latest update of Gingerbread from Verizon. Why the hell would you promote a video call program as well liked and used as Skype and NOT let your phone use the FFC? Why else would you buy this phone????/ I hope to get some answers that are not official here. (As if official meant anything anyway.... IE release dates.....

Some apps use the FFC just fine, so can't really blame it on not having Gingerbread. Skype just can't handle the camera on Froyo.

I have used the other video chat programs, fring, oovoo, tango, but the their own non popularity has its own limitations. I just do not know who to direct my frustrations to.... Skype? Verizon? HTC? I have read about a non official version that is out, but have not read about any positives or negatives yet as to how it is working......

I hear the non official app that works with Froyo works well on the TB.
