newbie question on CDMA

Hi,

A friend of mine living in the US proposed to give me his Verizon DroidX that uses CDMA (I think).
I understand in the FAQ that it has no SIM (I did not even know it was possible).
I live in France and we use GSM with SIM cards.
I guess then that there is absolutly no way to make it work in France with a french subscription right?
I was not sure the FAQ meant this is not SIM slot or it did notneed any SIM CARD.

thanks and regards,
max

There is no sim card on the X. It isn't a global capable phone so unless you only use it on WiFi for data it will be useless for you. I could be wrong but I am pretty confident I'm right.
