Newb question about chargers.

As I'm sure a lot of you guys know, the battery on my droid doesn't last very long, especially when I use the internet or certain apps. I have a couple chargers from previous phones that fit it, one's from an LG dare, ones from an LG banter, and the other is a Walmart generic car charger that's supposed to fit various models. Now all of these chargers fit, but I just wanted to make sure that they wouldn't hurt my new droid or the battery. If it was my other phones I'd probably just plug it in and see, but I've been babying this phone and want to keep it as long as possible. Thanks for the input.

I've used the changer that came with the phone plus the cradle and car charger both of which I purchased from VZW. I'd rather pay a few dollars extra and know that the equipment will not damage my phone. my two cents

yea crappy chargers will supply the incorrect voltage to the phone and actually ruin the battery. like Mike said, just spend the few extra dollars on a proper charger

My Blackberry chargers have worked perfectly for me, but I'm sure they're of the same quality as the Moto ones...

I'm using a LG charger in one of my desktop dock setups. An my daughter is using a LG charger for her dock. No problems. Just as long as you have a good branded charger that outputs similar voltages and current needed for the Droid, you should be fine.

I guess ill just spend a few extra bucks and go to verizon. After looking at the different chargers they all have different output voltages. The droid is 4.1v, the dare and the banter are both 3.7, and the walmart car charger doesn't even have a label saying what the specs are.

This charger from monoprice.com should work as well, although there are some negative reviews. And they're only about $2 each so if they don't work, you won't feel you've wasted a ton of money. I've also gotten a couple of car chargers and cables from them that work quite well. And the price is definitely right.

Don't forget to consider mA output unless you're ok with slow charging.

FWIW USB spec is 5V. The charger that came with my Droid outputs 5.1V.

Will do, and my droid charger outputs 5.1v too, not 4.1. That's an even bigger difference from the other chargers lol.
