It seems like a new speech-to-text program is announced everyday but this one actually has quite a bit of potential. In fact, the new application called "Utter" aims to revolutionize speech-to-text by incorporating itself into apps already installed on your device. With Utter, you speak a command and the action is completed using whichever app you have installed on your device that is capable of carrying out the request, allowing Utter to carry out verbal commands for almost anything. Hopefully Utter will live up to the preview, which shows the app doing everything from sending an email to adjusting CPU clock speeds. It can even carry on conversations with the user.
The program itself is still in early stages of development but is already showing great promise. For more info and to see Utter in action check out the developer’s preview shown above. Be forewarned, the video is over twenty minutes long and has some PG-13 language, but is impressive stuff!
Could this be a glimpse of true next-gen "JARVIS-like" text-to speech apps?
