New Notification Sign

My Droid Incredible 4g just got an update and this new sign appeared. I don't know what it is or how to get rid of it... Please help!!!

I've read in a couple of other threads it means your nfc capability is on. The ability to exchange data with other nfc capable devices.
Hopefully others with more knowledge can chime in on where to find it in your settings to turn it off. On my Nexus7 tablet it's Settings, More,NFC, uncheck to turn it off.

On my Jellybean Nexus, the NYC is under Settings and select 'more' under the Wireless section, you will see the box to enable.

uncheck the box to turn it off
