I purchased my Droid 2 Global about 6 months ago and have had no trouble with it. My question, which I'm sure has been asked before is why root the phone? What can a rooted phone do that it can't do now?

hello and welcome to the forum... rooting your phone, allows you access to the system files... you can then freeze bloat and install custom themes or ROMs...
