Got my first Droid about 2 years ago, HTC Eris. As you all know the phone is not great. However, learned about rooting a couple of months ago and ever since have really begun to like my Droid. I am upgrading to a Samsung Charge next month and plan to root right away. The question is, I know I can avoid Verizon's Hotspot charge once I am rooted. Is there any way around the data plan charges for rooted phones?

Welcome to the forum. When u root, ur warranty is no longer valid not hotspot. We don't recommend trying to wireless tether for free however there are many apps in the market that will work. There's still wireless tether app for root users and barnacle u can try.
