Hey there,

In July I made the move from a Blackberry to a Droid 3 and am loving it!! I want to make the most of the technology I have. So, it makes sense to join a droid community to communicate with and learn from others with more experience. The biggest question I have is; Is it worth rooting a Droid 3, since the phone is so new? And how susceptible to corruption from downloads does this make your phone?

So here I am...lets see what happens

welcome to the forum. IMO if one does not plan on fully customizing their device, then i say no it isnt worth it. half of the ppl wants to root just to tether for free, others want to make their device run smoother, changing ROMs, themes etc. its the thrill of taking control of ur phone. i guess the question is, what do u want to do with ur device? its not a bad thng to root, its more what u want after.
