New Introduction

I am new to this forum. I have a Droid2 Global which I love.

I recently changed from a non-gmail e-mail account to a gmail e-mail account, and now that has changed how I am notified for texts and e-mails. i WANT notifications for every text message, but NOT for every e-mail I receive. How can I separate them out?
