Network connection problem.

Ok.. I live in an area with 3G and it doesn't seem to be working. Whenever I disconnect from wifi and try to use the verizon network to browse the web, it says that there is no connection. I can still make phone calls but I can't go onto the app store or on the internet without wifi. Is there a way I can fix this?
