Need to SBF, but not for ROM purposes. Please help!

I recently bought a Droid 2 used, and like all of the newer gen Droid phones it has the constant issue of rebooting and the app market refuses to open. I've been told by several people that this can be helped by "SBF"ing my phone, and I tried to do a search on it here but all of the ROM lingo made it a bit confusing for me to understand. My phone isn't rooted or rommed, I just want to restore it to out of the box settings. How can I do this?

I did. Three times, actually. No avail. My friend had the same issue and she took it to verizon, they actually told her to SBF it, which caught me off guard, but I didn't argue.

Rebooting is a normal problem D2's have. Sbfing probably won't help much

I had the same issues on my D2. Rooted and flashed Liberty and the problem is gone.

I am not tech savy by any means, so unless I find someone to root/rom it for me, I'm pretty much SOL. :/
