Need help with wifi tethering issues on d1

I have tried all of the wifi sharing apps i can find and still no luck this is my problem, Im trying to share my 3g through wifi to a trendnet tew-649ub wireless n speed usb adapter. I can see the network i enter the wep key and it never connects . I also tried without security and still a no go if anyone could help please let me know.

V, I've done a little research, and there's a couple of ways you can go. Either root your phone, or use pdanet. There's ample places, but I'll help with what little knowledge I have.
