need advice on rooting the HTC one

What are the pro's & con's on rooting my htc one and where is the best link to show me the best way to do it if I want to root my phone. It would be geat if I could get some pro advice on this I would greatly appreciate it thank you for yalls time andnthe bada$$ site that has been put together here

Unless you unlocked your phone on the first day of release of the phone on Verizon, you currently can't root your HTC One. See the thread below that talks about what happened.

Sorry. Assumed you had a Verizon phone based on the fact that this forum focuses on Verizon phones.
