Mystery?!

SO! i was looking at my droid today while outside in direct sunlight.

while looking at the suns beautiful reflection in my screen, feeling my retinas melt, i saw what appeared to be 2 'leds's on the left side of the speaker on the top of the screen.

these bear a strong resemlence to the notification LED and light sensor on the right side

just wondering if anyone knows what they are

(one closest to speaker on left side appears to be a tiny camera? is big brother droid watching me?)

Probably the light and proximity sensors

Edit:
I see that you mention the light sensor is on the other side. Im not sure what both are then, but I would guess one (or both) are related to the proximity sensor

Your face. It turns off the screen when you hold the phone up to your ear to save power, then turns it back on when you move the phone away from your head.

Obviously the one on the right side of the screen is the light. The two on the left are the IR (proximity sensor) and the ambient light sensor that adjusts screen brightness based on the amount of light where you are.
