My Stupid Question About The Update

Am I taking a chance by unrooting and taking the official Froyo update?
What I'm worried about is VZ, Moto, or Google putting something in the update that prevents rooting again.

I don't know much cause I have not read up on the update, but I did hear rumors about it locking the bootloader on the Droid1. Personally I don't know why people always want to unroot for the updates. You already have froyo and more. Stay where your at!
