My Razr's nemisis

Have you tried rebooting? Do you stream audio or pod casts??? I've never seen this before, so I'm shooting in the dark here.

This media process comes on every time I reboot or when I plug my phone into the USB cable on my PC. It will also come up randomly during the day. I am forced to constantly check my apps all day long to see if the process has started but most of the time I know because my battery is draining like crazy and the phone is hot. Once I stop the process the drain stops and the battery cools down. I am really at a loss here and have tried everything to fix this from full wipe and soft resets to completely deleting every app that I ever downloaded. Next step is a different phone.

Might be related to motocast?

I have froze motocast using titanium backup. I too thought it might be motocast so I froze it and its still happening.

OK I froze everything related to Facebook and rebooted the phone. The media process is back on and eating my battery. Down to 55% in less than 2 hours.

This is the new RILD apparently.. hmm.

What about Backup assistant/Backup assistant+ Media? I have never signed up for it, never activated it, yet I will still catch it running in the background sometimes. I do not see media running unless I start power amp.

Could be. If you have Verizon, you have Backup Assistant, whether you sign up or not. That is how they save your contacts. But media is also music, pictures, maps, news feeds, etc, etc, etc. It is just about everything that feeds to your phone. It could also be an app pushing ads to your phone.
Good Luck.
