My emojis are gone, how do I get them back?

I have a moto g with android 4.4 KitKat. I had downloaded a few different texting and keyboard apps to try out, and somewhere along the way, the 'happy face' button for emojis disappeared. Does anyone know how I can get it back? Thanks in advance!

That kind of depends on which keyboard app you're currently using.
