My Droid X is messed up

Purchased on 7/19/2010, it quit working right on 9/30/2010. Went to my local Verizon store for help. First guy says it was a speaker problem. Second guy looks at it & says it's a software issue.

Their solution: Don't I have an old phone I can use while my new one gets shipped in (supposedly by tomorrow 10/5?). Well NO! I bought the doggone Droid X because my old phone died. VERIZON WAS NO HELP & I have to do WITHOUT access to not just my cell phone, but the internet & texting ON THAT DROID X which I bought FOR INTERNET SERVICE for our business!

Do you THINK Verizon could offer me some money off for MY INCONVENIENCE? Not even offered.

Do you THINK Verizon could offer me a phone? NO, they don't "stock" phones dancedroid in their stores anymore.

VERIZON - YOU SUCK! :icon_evil:

And VERIZON, you VOIDED my contract w/you that I just had to sign for 2 yrs. because of YOUR PHONE QUITTING WORKING PROPERLY on me.

And what do I get from Verizon? NOTHING!

Anybody else have a similar story?????????????

Almost word for word, except replce Droid X with Droid 1. My D1 crapped on a business trip (and no dealer in my travel area had a "refurbished" D1). Plus my "overnight" delivery took four days.

I did manage however to complain enough and I got my new for two upgrade shifted 18 months (plus a $50 credit). But that was after many (many) phone calls with customer service, and many threats to leave Verizon and never recommend them to anyone again.

Hint: If you want satisfaction take detailed notes (names, dates, employe ID #, promises, etc...) of each and every call. Trust me, they do the same.

Good luck.

Wait a minute. You're this pissed off because you have to wait 1 day to get a new phone? Wow...

Sounds like your where at a third party store that tries to look like an offical store I don't know any vzw store that doesnt stock phones. The offical stores will normally work with you to get you a replacment to a software/hardware issue if its a warrenty problem most times right in the store.

OP, your mistake was going to a Verizon store. It's not your fault because you don't know any better but had you called customer service you would have had your phone fedex to you next day, no issues or arguments.

As far as what you went through, again call Verizon and explain to them just what you told us. They may throw you a bone and give you a credit. It's worth the try.

I'll bet that Verizon store you dealt with wasn't a corporate store.

Droid X problems - similar stories to mine

Thanks to you all three guys (?) for posting about your stories about your experiences w/your Droids/Verizon. It's still amazing to me that Verizon appears to be the MOST expensive plans out there, w/NO roll over mins., yet they don't offer any more solutions to customer problems than a cheaper plan. That bothers me.

I did pick up my phone & it is working, so far. Hope I get more than 2 mos. out of this one.

The store I went to was/is a "Verizon" store. I went to one in Gallatin & then tried the one in Hendersonville & got the same story from both. They do not "stock any phones" anymore. Everything is shipped in, which lets them off the hook to give a customer any help on a replacement till you get your phone shipped in.

Neither store's manager ever talked to me or offered any help. I dealt only w/the people at the desk. In the Hendersonville store, the manager watched & listened & offered nothing. I was upset, but I did assure the customer service person know that I was not upset or mad at him, but VERIZON .

If anyone started a Facebook or some kind of blog to try to get Verizon to match the offer made my Sprint (everything, unlimited calls, text, etc. - not sure if internet is on their flat rate or not), I'd sure like to know about it & join up. I think it's ridiculous they won't match the plan.
