i always disable all the features in keyboard settings, but the phone keeps putting symbols like question marks and exclamation marks immediately after the word i type without a space. i usually want one space but i have to go back, erase the symbol, then space and type it again to get a space. heres an example:

default: are you there?
what i want: are you there ?

is there a setting or must i go with a different kb ?

I see auto punctuate but if you gave that off not sure what else to do. Why you want the space anyways? Just asking, I understand if its just personal preference.

completely personal preference ...
yes all features in the multi-touch kb settings are off, yet the phone is formatting my typing regardless.
i also like to type lowercase most times, without autocorrect or other enhancements, because on the phone i tend to use shorthand and make words with letters/numbers, so i don't like how the phone interferes with that when the features are enabled ....

easier to read when there's a space after the word, it's actually gramatically correct.
but it hasn't really bugged me too much.
