Music will NOT download

After I have plugged my phone into my computer with USB. I choose my usb connection-USB Mass Storage. Phone says connection detected, touch that then I'm at Media share screen. I choose start, 95% of the time it says it cannot detect my memory card. I had had verizon send me a new card.
If I get past that I choose sync or copy (believe me, I've done this too many times unsuccessfully). If I do end up getting a droid x folder on my computer I can't drop music into it. It acts like it isn't even there.
OH! I've tried on 4 different computers.

But I made a folder , named it ringtones, and drag there. Worked for me

I am just curious if you have tried removing your card and browsing it from your PC....like in your SD card reader or however you do it.
