I just transferred my music over to the TB and the volume is really low. I checked the sound settings and they are pumped all the way up. Am I missing something

It's beyond a letdown. It' totally unuseable as a media player. On the kickstand and a few feet away you can't hear anything. My phone ringer is loud and yet even the speakerphone is really low. I am hoping there is a software fix for this. I will be calling VZ tomorrow

that sucks just got mine a few hours earlier...havn't had enough time to do anything yet really except get a good wallpaper ... but anyway thats the main thing I asked before, is speakerphone loud, and is the music player louder than IPHONE 4 he said yes with the quickness he said it has dolby digital surround sound...he might have been taking it too far I don't know hopefully it is like the X and it is low when you first get it then they send a OTA that makes it louder I really hope so...he said it was louder than the X im not sure yet, I kno the bb storm was louder..

I'm amazed to read this. The only louder phones I've ever heard are the OG Droid and the EVO. Mine is a BEAST! I can hear my text alert from downstairs.

Not to imply that you haven't, but double check your settings, maybe do a reboot with battery pull. I can't imagine that there is THAT much difference between devices. Perhaps you just got bum units?

Just curious, how loud is your music player. My ringer is loud yet my speakerphone is low.

Seriously... it's the loudest music player I've heard aside from the EVO. YouTube videos are loud as well. Significantly louder than the Droid X, Fascinate or Incredible. SIGNIFICANTLY. That's why I suggested that if your media volume is set correctly you may have gotten one with a bum speaker.

OK I just put my OG Droid and my HTC Thunderbolt side by side playing the same song on speakerphone. The OG Droid can drown out the Thunderbolt but just barely, but the Thunderbolt's quality is quite a bit more.

Then again, when I got mad at my OG Droid for locking up and threw it on the ground (carpet) one time, I noticed the speakerphone was really loud after that. So could just be my Droid.... <cough>

I'm 6'1", 245lbs and I don't scare easily... but I peed myself when I got a text message on my OG Droid a few times... it was that loud!

Hey man, I'm really sorry if you thought we were making light of your situation. That's not the case at all. Hopefully VZW is cool about it. Worst case scenario, ask them to compare yours to one that they have there in the store.

That's cool. I am just a bit overly sesitive about this. I'll get over it, Hopefully:)

It would be nice though if they could raise the volume a few Db via a patch

My volume is low on media too. Settings are all the way up so I don't know. May have to make a trip back to VZW as well. :(

I just checked mine even though I mostly listen to music through head phones, and I was pretty impressed ... I'm thinking a lil louder than my OG Droid and better quality.

ThunderBolt- non rooted (for now)
