Mounting Droid to PC via USB

Problem with USB connection

This has a very simple fix:
Go to settings > SD card and phone storage > Unmount SD card
Once the SD card is unmounted, select Format SD Card.
Format the card.
This should work. It worked instantly for me, and all my frustrations seemed to disappear
