I'm pretty confident the new processor will churn out much better performance than the current OMAP. Not just slightly but significantly.
Specs:
OMAP™ 3 Processors - OMAP36x
Not to mention the
Second-Generation SmartReflex™ Power and Performance Management Technologies
I'm predicting exactly the opposite. The 3630 is essentially just a 3430 with a die shrink to 45nm. So it will run cooler and draw even less power from the battery, but otherwise will deliver identical results.
There is a video floating around on youtube that purports to show a big difference between the 34x and 36x series of OMAP chips. However, what few are catching is that the "test" is rigged. The 36x OMAP CPU is running
with a substantially faster GPU... and the test is, guess what... a graphics benchmark! Of course the 36x series will deliver better results!
The specs on the Shadow mean it will be in the same class as the Droid and Incredible. So it'll be a good phone, but nothing that changes the game.
