motorola droid contact problem! help!

so i used backup assist to get all my previous contacts into my droid and wow. i cant call? all the numbers seem to be saved on some note in the contact, except for 25 out of 200. can someone please help? whats going on? how do i delete my whole contact list so i can try sncying it again with gmail? thanks
