I dont feel cheated or lied to in any way. If people actually read the post they would see that my FRUSTRATION, isnt with getting or not getting the update at all. I love my Droid (not going to root though, ill patiently wait), i dont feel like people are being cheated out of something they deserve, that is in NO WAY my problem.
CERIAL KILLER - I understand what your saying completely, maybe your not understanding me at all, perhaps my communication is poor, i apologize, let me restate it a different way.
When small overlooked things by a company are taken and blown up to, ohhh, say it being posted over 180 pages on a site that is set up to deal with and talk about those small instances along with larger problems and non problematic discussions on a single product, it shows that it is very likely if a larger problem pops up on said product...it will be handled poorly. then what will happen?
would it be very hard for motorola to release a statement saying "we know many of you are frustrated with THE WAY we are handling this small update, and we would like to simply clarify some confusion on this subject" followed by them doing just that? i cant ever get a straight answer from seemingly ANYONE at their own company that doesn't conflict with something else someone says again, at their own company. and though i trust you are very knowledgable on the subject, to my knowledge you are not an employee of motorola (perhaps i am wrong on this)
Since you know much (respected moderator) maybe then you can clarify some things for me... it would help my confusion on this subject.
if motorola doesnt push the update who does? and if it isnt them... why would they not simply state "we do not push this small update to your phones, verizon does"
why release an official statement, then a post of the inclusions in the update, then retract the update inclusions, and do it in such a way as to confuse (there's that word again) the public as to if the update statement is retracted, or if simply the update inclusions are being retracted, and do it soo poorly even several reputable tech sites need to update their own statements due to their own confusion, only making more confusion.
can we still expect the update this week? motorola all of a sudden will not give an answer, both on their facebook site AND their twitter site.
how do rollouts typically go down when everything is in order? in this case the first one seemed to go so smooth, this one seems to be a nightmare
are we to expect some features to be missing on our droid when the 2.1 update does happen? i understand the hardware is not quite as "bad ass" as the nexus one so some features could be out....true? ive also read that the procesor difference isnt much, that the nexus one is running at 660mhz anyways, and that the droids inclusion of a seperate gpu processor evens the two devices out as far as technically...whats up with this?
do you know if there is a protocol for releasing information from verizon. i understand mistakes happen, is it normal on this kind of scale though (10 dif answers from 10 dif people at verizon)
thanks for your time
