I posted asking about the version of the update. Hopefully this is full featured and not the stripped down "test build" that Engadget has been talking about.

I think Cereal Killer eluded it could be a test.... which only means there would be another to follow.....

Don't know if this is the right thread for this.

I downloaded and installed the no-root 5-screen launcher. It's very convenient having the additional 2 screens. On the other hand, in my case it comes at the price of a very noticeable speed hit. And sometimes one or more of those screens just go blank and I have to re-tap the home icon to get my icons back.

Now if there was a way to combine the convenience of the 2 additional screens with the "pop" that the original 3-screen launcher had, we would really have something.

There is. I have the 2.0.1 launcher with the 5 homescreens. Just as snappy as stock 2.0.1 with the benefit of extra real estate.

Are you rooted or unrooted? I'm unrooted. I downloaded the no-root 5-screen launcher here:

I know I'm not imagining this performance hit. Anybody think it would be worthwhile to look into uninstalling and then re-installing it?

Why are so many people saying to won't have 5 home screens? I know the article says to has the 2.0.1 look, but then it say "Interestingly, the home screen's still got the same look as 2.0.1, meaning it doesn't adopt the Nexus One's rotating 3D grid of app icons -- it's still got the pull-up drawer tab at the bottom" so why wouldn't it have the 5 screens?

If you want more home screens you should get home++. It runs great you can have up to 7 screens comes with a built in task killer and and a lot of other great things . Free too.

I ran Home ++ for a long time and got rid of it on the rumors that I would be getting 5 screens a month ago.

Honestly it REALLY slows down your system. Maybe I would use it again if I were rooted and there was no other way to get 5 screens.

What do I need 5 screens for. Well I'm missing the Pandora widget, a Music Widget, 2 pictures of my kids, and a variety of useful application shortcuts. I easily fill up 5.
