just woundering y it was closed i mean the mod said y but from what i understand we all have it now so its not really confidential if we all have it lol.

im not trying to stir the pot ethier i just think the thread was closed do to lack of knowing what was going on ethier that or i dont know what was going on lol

i would like the mod to look into it and if im right re open it so we can discuss it and if im wrong sorry for bothering you and close this aswell or i can delete it thanks guys keep up the good work.

I have to wonder as well why that thread was closed. So that poster made an agreement and (not really) may have violated that agreement by discussing it. If that's the case and DroidForums has an issue with him violating his agreement, well you better go close every thread about bootloaders, ROMS, Kernels, Tethering, etc. Why the conscience all of a sudden?

my guess is just don't mention the soak test or anything about it and it won't get deleted. The update has come out to other members who never signed up for it, but I know Matt from motorola support forums has been eyeing this forum and making sure its not talked about on here.

I dont see how someone can't keep there mouth shut for a week, it's not that hard. If you can't, just mention the update, not the soak test.

That's not the point, and not that I don't agree with you, but what does DroidForums care? That's why a thread on Motorola's general forum should get closed, but not here. There's a dozen other threads talking about installing the rooted version of the Soak version that we "aren't supposed to be talking about". Close those thread's too, if we are working for Motorola now. See what I mean?

The mod misinterrperated what is actually "confidential" about the soak testing. He deleted it saying "I believe soak testing is confidential"....hmm....but it's sign up's are public as is the announcing of soak testing....kinda defeats confidential.....but what IS confidential is they do not want you sending the files to anyone else...that is the confidential part....not anything else.

Now had you posted a link to the software then by all means it should have been closed.

If the topic is confidential then why CLOSE it? I can still read it. Shouldn't it be deleted or hidden? If the point is to cover DroidForums.net from liability then how is keeping it out where anyone can read it protecting the forum from a lawsuit?

Sounds to me like a mod exercising his power because he can not because he needs to. Until Moto sends you a cease and desist letter the Mods need to stop playing lawyer.

I get the gray area here, but keep in mind the history and size of this forum. I guarantee you this was not a power play. Closing the thread stops any further discussion that could lead down a path that may or may not be allowed, so closing it DOES accomplish something.

Questioning moderation of the forum out in the public is against the guideline here. If you have an issue with a Mod you should discuss it through pm's or other private means. This thread is closed.

end of line...
