ok so i hope that this will be a place to give miui tips and any ideas to speed up my launcher it gets laggy at times and that is really the olny thing that i dont like about it

just found this one it works wounders go into settings then programs then scrol down into you se launcher settings and then turn off hi res graphics and then your launcher will be as smooth as butter :)

Yeah I have never had a re-draw or lag problem that drove me that nuts, but the past couple days have been kind of choppy. This seems to be working pretty well and I really don't see a big differance in graphics. Good find!

If you dont like the MIUI launcher (which I prefer myself).

you can use Go launcher available in the market. Its very smooth...goes great with MIUI.

You can even customize the dock like LP.

Just an idea. I checked it out and it was very smooth and quick.

I just prefer the stock MIUI launcher.

any way to block ads or other scripts? ways on controlling other kernels?

can't block ads with scripts that i know of, but AdFree from the Market is actually free, and it's working remarkably well on my install - gets everything on TweetCaster and DF app

to control clock speeds, you can use Root Explorer to edit your 99complete file in system/etc/init.d/

add the two italicised lines as below, where the bolded numbers represent your desired max and min cpu speeds and the scaling governor you desire (depends on your kernel - do your research):

#!/system/bin/sh
ln -s /mnt/sdcard /data/sd
sync;

echo 1000000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
echo 250000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq

echo ondemand > /sys/devices/system/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor

setprop cm.filesystem.ready 1;
setprop dc.filesystem.ready 1;

credit to jamezelle or ZeroBarrier, i'm pretty sure - whoever figured it out, it wasn't me.
