Missing Emails

I fairly new to Droid and like it so far. I have my work emails all sent to the Droid. The past few days several emails have not come through while others have come through. Any help on what to do? I've tried turning the phone off and then back on, but the situation is still the same.
Thanks.

Don't use the stock email client. I use K9.

If you have another email client open and set to download and remove mail from the server, some of the mail will never arrive on your phone. You need to set up the other client to leave mail on server, and delete from server when I delete.

I'm not sure what you mean. I am FAR from tech savvy. Can you put this in terms I might understand? Or give me specific instructions to follow?
Thanks.

The "Email" app that comes with the phone is buggy. An alternative can be downloaded from the market. I use one called K9. If you are using a Microsoft Exchange server, you should check out Touchdown. Another way entirely is to use the built in Gmail app and have gmail check your external account: just login to gmail.com and set it up under settings. Yet another way is to have all of your email forwarded to gmail, if possible. You should contact your ISP for instructions.

If you are using POP3 to check email and you have another email client checking email--like a work or home computer--it might be set up to download email from the server and then delete the email off of the server. Then, when you check the email with your phone, the email isn't there anymore. The solution is to go into the settings of every email client that is checking email and find an option that says something like "Leave mail on server". You want it to leave the mail on the server so all email clients can view the mail. You'll also want to set "Delete from server when I delete on client" because if you don't your email messages will stay on your mail server and it will eventually fill up. HOWEVER, this set up is not necessary if you are using IMAP to check your mail as synchronization is built into the system.

POP3, IMAP, and Exchange are 3 different ways that email clients interface with email servers.

Thanks! This makes more sense to me, but I'm still going to ask my tech guy at work how to do it. I appreciate the advice.
