under settings- about phone there is a bar that says MIN with a local phone number below it. what is it?

if i remeber right the MIN is the mobile identification number

MIN is Mobile Identification Number
MDN is Mobile Directory Number (your phone number)

They used to be the same, now they can be different, especially if you have ported a phone number from a different carrier.

You got it! Although the MIN looks like a phone number, it is not a number that will reach you if called. The MIN is on of the ways the provider IDs your phone/equipment.
