Microphone Stops Working after Stereo Headphones Removed

I use the Droid Incredible 2 as an MP3 player with stereo headphones. When I remove the headphones, the microphone no longer works. I can hear the caller, they cannot hear me - VERY ANNOYING. Is there a fix?

Do you have to restart the phone to get it to work again? Haven't heard anyone else bring this issue up so it may be your hardware. IMO, take it to Verizon and get it replaced.
