Messaging contacts

Hey guys, I just received my HTC Rezound yesterday and I've noticed the contacts in my People app (which match my Gmail like I want it to) don't match the contact list in my text message contacts. Is there a way to replace the text contact list with the contacts/Gmail contact lists? Thanks!

Do you have Facebook set to sync with your contacts? I know on the RAZR, contacts that are brought in through Facebook are not able to be edited, aka Read Only. You could try going to the contact, clicking options, then click on merge contact. You would then merge it with your Gmail contacts. At least, that is what I have to do on my phone.
